What the app stores on your device
- Household and profile names you enter.
- Each child’s birth month and year, used to determine age-appropriate chores. The exact day of birth is not collected.
- Your household’s chores, credit targets, agreement days, and allowance amounts.
- Chore claims, completions, approvals, returns, and weekly settlement history.
- Accessibility preferences such as larger text or read-aloud.
- A parent PIN stored through the device’s protected keystore. The PIN is salted and hashed rather than stored as readable text.
What the app does not do
- It does not create an account or ask for an email address.
- It does not send household data to Four Paths or any server.
- It does not contain advertising, analytics, or tracking software.
- It does not request your location, contacts, camera, or microphone.
- It does not provide messaging or public sharing.
Children’s information
Chore Credits is designed for families, including children using a shared family device. A parent may enter a child’s name and birth month and year. That information remains on the device, is not transmitted, and is not used to build a profile or disclosed to third parties.
Read-aloud and exports
If you enable read-aloud, Chore Credits uses the text-to-speech engine configured on your device. If you export household history, the app hands the JSON or CSV file to your device’s share sheet only after you choose to export it. The destination you select then governs that copy.
Deleting your data
Use Reset household in parent settings or uninstall the app. Both methods permanently remove the household data stored by Chore Credits on that device. Four Paths has no server copy to recover, so export first if you want to keep a backup.
